Achievements

Health4 has been working since 2009 to improve quality, reduce cost and increase the overall value of care being provided.

Health4 uses innovative technology to break down silos between physicians and other healthcare providers so patients receive needed care at the right time and in the right place.

Improving Quality

Year over year, patients cared for by Health4 physicians are getting more of the recommended preventive services and their chronic conditions such as diabetes are being better managed.

Beating the National Average

Health4 physicians outperform national benchmarks such as The National Committee for Quality Assurance's (NCQA) HEDIS report. These are measures of quality used by employers and payers throughout the United States.

Health4 and Prescription Drug Costs

Health4 has identified some of the most frequently prescribed medications and is helping physicians increase generic prescribing rates and manage more effectively appropriate medication usage. Examples include focusing on generic prescribing for conditions such as GERD (reflux), high cholesterol and cardiovascular disease, or assuring appropriate use of antibiotics for certain conditions such as sore throats and acute bronchitis. The use of generic drugs and appropriate medication management has helped keep the runaway costs of health care in check over the past couple of years, without adverse effects on quality.

Eliminating Treatments / Services of Questionable Value

Health4 is taking advantage of a national campaign called Choosing Wisely® to identify opportunities to enhance value. This campaign, which is led by medical specialty societies, focuses on eliminating treatments or services of questionable value for patients. Two areas from Choosing Wisely® that Health4 is currently advancing are the overuse of imaging (X-rays/CT/MRI) and the appropriate use of antibiotics.
